Joe Gardzina, LCDC, ADC-III, SAP, NCAC, CEO
Joe began his career in 1993 as a psychiatric technician at a Houston aftercare facility. Mr. Gardzina became a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in 1996. He is Board Certified by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals. In addition, he is certified by the US Department of Transportation as a Substance Abuse Professional. He has served as the program director for substance use disorder treatment facilities in Houston, TX and San Diego, CA. Before founding ADAPT Programs in 2007, Joe worked for the Right Step in Houston as the Program Coordinator of their inpatient adolescent treatment program. He also was the Director of Programs for Phoenix House in San Diego, CA. In addition, he worked for the United Way for five years, serving as the Associate Executive Director. Joe and his beautiful wife Victoria are the proud parents of one child, William.
Katie Waller, LCDC, M.A., – Director of Programs
Katie joined the ADAPT team in 2017. She graduated with honors from Sam Houston State University in 2010. Katie has spent her counseling career treating adolescents, adults, and families dealing with substance abuse issues and co-occurring mental health disorders. In addition to providing direct clinical services, her experience includes curriculum writing and implementation, training development and facilitation, program management, and clinical supervision. Katie has had the opportunity to work in a wide variety of settings that range from detox/hospitalization to outpatient services. Outside of the office, she stays busy spending time with friends and family, reading, and watching true crime documentaries. Katie’s passion is supporting others in their growth.
Channtal Flores, LCDC – Facility Director
Channtal serves as the Facility Director at Brazos Place, where she ensures everything operates seamlessly and maintains communication across all departments. She graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville University, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Channtal is deeply committed to supporting individuals battling addiction and is dedicated to making a positive impact in her community.
Sharon Bowman, Admissions Coordinator
Sharon joined the Brazos Place family in March of 2021. As someone who is in recovery herself, she is deeply committed to supporting others on their journey to recovery. In her role at Brazos Place, Sharon is responsible for guiding clients through their initial enrollment steps, managing scheduling, assessing financial eligibility, and handling various other tasks. She takes great pride in her work and in assisting others who are on a similar path. Outside of work, Sharon cherishes her roles as a wife and mother and enjoys spending quality time with her family. Above all, Sharon places her faith n Jesus as the cornerstone of her life.
Samantha Camardella, LVN
I have been a nurse since 2016 and relocated to Texas in 2021. In my personal time I enjoy spending time with my family. Professionally, I have experience working in the ER and Med Surg. I am deeply committed to helping others.
Samantha Camero, Administrative Assistant
My name is Samantha, I started with Brazos Place in November of 2021, as Direct Care Staff. I’m pleased to have been moved to the administrative assistant for Brazos Place. I assist with the intake process after the screening has been completed. I also assist HR with payroll. When I’m not a work, you can probably catch me at a softball or volleyball game cheering on my daughters.
Neosha Koch, Direct Care Supervisor
Neosha began with Adapt Programs in an admissions role and has now transitioned to an important role at Brazos in Direct Care Services. Neosha’s direct contact with the clients of Brazos Place gives her understanding and knowledge of how substance use disorders truly affect lives and families. Neosha fills her days with work, school and raising her two sons.
