Is Rehab Covered By Health Insurance?

At Brazos Place we are considered an out of network facility by some insurance companies while also being considered an in-network facility with other insurance companies. Insurance vs. Self-Pay Cost Considerations
If you self-pay in advance, you will enjoy deep discounts compared to the charges invoiced to insurance carriers. Why? Even though we will advocate for you, please be aware that Brazos Place cannot mandate that your insurance company will assume responsibility for your fees. Understanding Drug Rehab & Alcohol Rehab Insurance
The law (The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act) requires group health insurance plans that cover more than 50 employees to provide coverage for substance abuse disorders in the same way they do for all other medical and surgical procedures covered by the plan. Specifically, the law prohibits imposing financial requirements (i.e. deductibles, co-pays, coinsurance, or out-of-pocket maximums) or treatment limitations (including day or visit limits) on substance use benefits that are more restrictive than those imposed on other medical or surgical benefits provided by the plan. However, some policies may not cover addiction treatment at all. If you feel that your benefits are misaligned with your recommended course of treatment, it is in your best interest to communicate directly with your insurance carrier (perhaps through your employer) to convey the importance of your treatment.

Admission Criteria:
- Desire For Recovery: Patients should demonstrate willingness to participate and complete the 6-week program
- Age: Adults 18 years of age or older
- Gender: Male and Female
- Applicant: Individuals assessed as chemically dependent, addicted to alcohol/drugs, self-defeating behaviors and/or co-existing mental illness (dual diagnosis). Clients must be physically able to participate in all aspects of the treatment program
- Treatment For: Alcoholism, drug and other addictions and related disorders
Medical: Upon entry, each patient will have a thorough history and physical examination. We may also request a release from the patient’s physician if there are any medical constraints to participating in our treatment. (Patients may request a Release of Information form from our Admissions Office). - Exclusionary Criteria: Severe psychiatric disorders, including psychosis and severe clinical depression, which may require hospitalization. Chronic predisposition to destructive, aggressive or violent behavior incompatible with a group living environment, acute or chronic medical conditions requiring constant medical attention or hospital care.
