RE: Family Education Program/Visitation

Brazos Place, in an effort to provide the highest level of care for our clients, has implemented a program designed to incorporate friends and family into the treatment of our clients. An integral part of the treatment of chemical dependency is to treat the whole individual and to make changes that are going to provide an environment conducive to recovery for the client. This means that friends and family have to understand the process that the client is involved in, if they are going to be an effective part of the recovery process. As I am sure that you are aware, you have been affected by this disease of addiction as much as the addict/alcoholic that is in treatment. This family education program is meant to be a source of healing for you as well as making you a more positive factor in the recovery process for your loved one.

In order to accomplish this objective, Brazos Place is now requiring that before friends and family visit a client, they attend the family education groups on Saturdays starting at 11:45AM-1PM. The groups are an hour of education about the disease of addiction and the management of the disease. The classes will be offered here at the facility. You will need to attend the education program every Saturday before visitation can occur with a client. Two (2) adults and the clientís children are welcome to participate in the family education program. No outside food or drinks or cell phones are allowed at the facility. We also ask that visitors dress appropriately.

The clients are allowed one ten-minute phone call per day. There are three types of telephone calls that are permitted to be placed: Collect calls, Prepaid Collect Calls, and Prepaid Debit Account Calls. For information establishing funding accounts call 1-800-750-3646, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

The client mailing address is: Clients Name, P.O. Box 2470 Freeport, TX 77542

The Brazos Place staff looks forward to providing the foundation of your family memberís recovery. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
